چکیده
In high-viscosity polymer solutions and blends, temperature variations during the quench process of thermally-induced phase separation (TIPS) influence dynamics thermodynamics separation. Hence, this study aims to investigate impact on morphology formation TIPS process. First, temporal is investigated by coupling a transient heat conduction model Cahn–Hilliard equation, results are compared with isothermal Next, inspected applying from two opposite sides sample same different temperatures through Fourier transfer equation equation. The enthalpy demixing competition between mass also evaluated. It confirmed that alone have significant addition, quenching system both leads anisotropic formation, which affected rate, temperature, solution viscosity, demixing. Upon sides, types morphologies droplet sizes were formed as result difference in cooling rates sides. Employing induced shallow effect deep side due fact moved toward lowest system, led distinctive structure.

Formation of regular structures in the process of phase separation.
Phase separation under directional quenching has been studied in a Cahn-Hilliard model. In distinct contrast to the disordered patterns which develop under a homogeneous quench, periodic stripe patterns are generated behind the quench front. Their wavelength is uniquely defined by the velocity of the quench interface in a wide range. Numerical simulations match perfectly analytical results obta...
متن کاملPhase Separation Phenomena During the Formation of Asymmetric Membranes
The formation of membranes from two systems has been studied. In the system polyurethanedimethylformamide-water, the mechanism for the formation of the sponge-like structure proves to be a liquid-liquid phase separation with nucleation and growth of the diluted phase. This mechanism has been confirmed for the system modified polystyrene-polyisoprene-polystyrene/ o-dichlorobenzene/(methanol-wate...

The morphology and dynamics of polymerization-induced phase separation
The morphology and dynamics of polymerization-induced phase separation in the initially homogeneous solution of a non-reactive component in reactive monomers are investigated by incorporating the reaction kinetics into the Cahn–Hilliard equation. Analytical results show that there is a reduction of the initial length scale in the early stage of phase separation. The reason is the increase of th...
